Celebrate the lighting of the community Christmas tree with performances at Canan Commons. Explore DWNTWN to see the creativity of our local businesses participating in the holiday window display contest. Music and light shows at Canan Commons continue on the weekends all month long!
Light Up DWNTWN Kick-off Event
Join your friends and neighbors in holiday spirit DWNTWN on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5–8 pm. Count down the lighting of the community Christmas tree at 6 pm while you enjoy the festive spirit with performances, a kiddie train, and a visit from Santa at Canan Commons. Explore DWNTWN to do some holiday shopping at the Holiday Gift Market and other local retailers, explore the First Thursday Gallery Walk, and check out the exciting holiday window displays in storefronts across downtown.
Community Christmas Tree Nightly Light Shows
The fun doesn’t stop all December long. After we officially light the community Christmas tree at the kick-off event, come back to Canan Commons each Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in December at 6, 7, 8, and 9 pm to experience the dazzling music and light show and get in the holiday spirit.

Local businesses across DWNTWN are getting in the spirit and decking the halls… or should we say, their storefront windows! Visit DWNTWN all December long to check out the displays and visit our Facebook page to vote for your favorite!
