ECLIPSE EVENT WEEKEND • APRIL 4–8, 2024
Muncie and Delaware County are in the heart of “totality” for a once-in-a-lifetime event: a total solar eclipse! Downtown Muncie is the place to be to enjoy and experience the eclipse weekend. The fun starts on Thursday with a gallery walk, and goes all weekend long with concerts, makers markets, family activities, a brewfest, and so much more!

DWNTWN comes alive during this exciting monthly event! Explore art galleries and shops and watch and learn from local artists as they exhibit and perform their craft. Enjoy their company and purchase their unique creations.
Magic City Brewfest
Sat, April 6, 2024 • 2–6 PM • Cornerstone Center for the Arts (520 E Main St, Muncie, IN 47305)
Join us for an unforgettable celebration at the Magic City Brewfest on Saturday, April 6 from 2-6pm, before the Total Eclipse of the Heartland on April 8! The event will be held inside the Cornerstone Center for the Arts in the Colonade Room. Get ready for a day filled with craft beer, winery and distillery offerings, live music, artistic makers and an atmosphere that's nothing short of magical! The party will continue in the auditorium throughout the evening at the Magic City Music Fest, free to Brewfest attendees from 4pm-midnight.

2024 Total Solar Eclipse Viewing
Mon, April 8, 2024 • 1–4 PM • Canan Commons (500 S Walnut St, Muncie, IN 47305)
Join us for the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse in the heart of Downtown Muncie on Monday, April 8, 2024. We will begin gathering at 1 PM (weather permitting), within the circle of Canan Commons, 500 S Walnut St. Totality will occur at 3:09 PM, plunging those in the line of totality into total darkness for nearly 4 minutes.
As the celestial bodies align, we invite you to witness the breathtaking spectacle surrounded by the ambiance of Canan Commons.
Our DWNTWN neighbors will be having specials all day, so make plans beforehand to have lunch, dinner or drinks at one of our many restaurants and bars. You can shop with our retailers and get your Eclipse keepsakes too!
Event Highlights:
Eclipse viewing: meet at Canan Commons starting at 1 pm, totality will occur at 3:09 pm.
Unwind: Bring your yoga mat or blanket, viewing glasses, and crystals or stones to recharge during the eclipse.
Live music: There will be live soothing music, bring an instrument, even if it is only your voice. Immerse yourself in the melodies that will elevate your eclipse experience.

Downtown Muncie offers an exciting assortment of one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants, and bars to explore all weekend long. Several local spots are offering special extended hours on Sunday and Monday from 9 am–9 pm.

Magic at Minnetrista
Minnetrista Museum & Gardens is hosting a variety of family events to celebrate the cosmos all weekend long. Experience performances by Orchestra Indiana and Ball State Dept. of Theatre & Dance, shop at the Farmers Market and Orchard Shop, explore the museum exhibits, engage in art and history activities, and so much more!
Magic City Makers Market
Explore and shop a wide variety of local vendors offering handmade and homemade unique art and crafts, baked goods and tasty treats, and so much more! The market is happening at two locations during eclipse weekend:

Planetarium Shows
The Charles W. Brown Planetarium at Ball State University will several free activities during eclipse weekend.
Friday, April 5:
5:30 p.m.: “Earth, Moon, & Sun” Planetarium Show
6:30 p.m.: “Eclipse: The Sun Revealed” Planetarium Show
Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7:
